Making A Filter

Today we made dirty water into clean water. We had a few steps to do but it wasn't hard, it only took about 15 minutes. I wrote down the steps i hope that you can make it right and make it work.

Aim- To make a filtration plant using household materials.

Materials:
Plastic bottle, Rocks, Sand, Dirty water, Filter Paper, Craft Knife, Scissors.

Examples are:
1:Coffee Plunger
2:Tea Bags
3: Swimming Pool
4:Kidneys

Process:
Step 1: Cut the bottle using the craft knife then the scissor.
Step 2: Put the top half upside down then fold the filter paper and put it in the top half.
Step 3: Add layers of Sand in the filter paper then rocks on top.
Step 4: Get 1 cup of dirty water.
Step 5: Pour dirty water on the rocks and sand, the water should slowly go down into the bottom half of the bottle.

Reflection:
The filter went well the water went down slowly but it wasn't clear so maybe next I could try and make it more clear.

  1. Very organized write up Paige, I also enjoyed the image that you added showing your filter.

How do you think you could do it differently next time so your 'clean' water is even cleaner? You have earned a point for this activity.
