On Monday we went on a school trip to Orana Park. We all met at the Learning Commons at school and we got a name tag so everyone knew our name. Before we left we had morning tea. When we got there we got split into two groups. I was in group two with Rarotonga, Shanarnia and Haylee. The person showing us around was Elizabeth. We went to look at most of the animals but sadly some of the animals were in their cage because it was too windy. We went to see the Kea and they were running away from each other and it was pretty funny. When we went to see the lions they were roaring at each other. At the end of the trip we went to feed the giraffes. We could only do it once but I really liked feeding them.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

CIP
In CIP we have been organising a stationery recycling box that will be all over school. I think everyone in school will join in on this. I hope we get 20 kgs. With the money we get from Terracycle I want to donate the money to Kids Can. We can spread our message with everyone by posting about it on our blogs.

Mufti Day
Last week in CIP we planned a mufti day for the 8 of August. The theme is radical rainbow.
What was the planning process? How did we come up with the theme?
We got into groups and wrote down some ideas for the mufti day then shared them to the class and did a vote. We come up with radical rainbow.
Who are we raising money for? What do you know about them?
We are raising money for the kids can charity. I know that they help kids in need.
What makes a successful mufti day?
Everyone joining in and wears rainbow.
What jobs do you have/will you have?
I would like to collect the money in period 2.
How is this spreading kindness in our community?
We are showing that people who do kind things will get things back.

CIP
In CIP we have chosen for our art work to make a Native birds. Last week we wet in groups of three to pick up rubbish for our art work. In our bag we got a lot of plastic, food, bottles etc. We only picked up one bag but we had a lot in it.
I think the native birds idea is a good idea even though i picked the H for hornby. I think it will work out well if we work together to make it good.
