Metaphor - A metaphor is a term you would use to describe something. Some people use it to complement someone else. Some other people could use it to insult other people. For example: He is a shining star.
Simile - A simile is a sentence using "as" or "like". People use it to compare something to another thing. For example: She was as brave as a lion.
