Day 6 of our learning journey, For the first activity we have 2 points for the second activity we have 2 point again and for the bonus activity we have 8 points.

Day 5 of S.H.S learning journey, For the first activity we had to write a short story about if we got lost in the forest what would we do. Then  for the second activity we had to write facts about Sir Edmund Hillary. For the bonus activity we had to write down if we went to Otago Rail Track why or why not we would go.

Day 4 of S.H.S learning journey, For the first activity we had to  write down how people save whales in my on words. For the bonus activity I had to write down my option if people should stop fishing because dolphins swim into the nets and get hurt.

Skyline painting

The past couple of weeks we have been working on our calendar art. We had three choices to choose from there where skyline, Koru and Hearts. I choose Skyline and here is my calendar art from 2017.

Day 3 in S.H.S learning journey, Today for the first activity I had to choose a animal that I would like to adopt and answer questions from our school site. For the second activity I had to write down three reasons why we should not kill possums.

Activity 1

for this activity I choose a kea and I am answering questions from our school site.

1. What kind of animal are they? - Parrot   

2. What do they eat? - Berry's, Leaves and Insects

3. Where do they normally live? - Forest's

Activity 2

For this activity I have to give you three reasons why we should keep possums.

1. Because the mum possums try to protect their baby's.    

2. Because they might have no food for their children so they try to hunt do other animals.

3. Because the mother would do any thing to make their baby safe.

Day 2 of S.H.S learning journey, today for the first activity I had to watch a couple of videos and read a couple of texts. Then I  had to write down three sentences of the texts that I read and say why we like them. Then for the second activity I had to write down five questions that I would ask Laura Dekker if I had an interview with her. Last of all I had to get someone from my class and they told me 5 things they like to do put doors.

Activity 1

• I like Karekare Beach because it is beautiful at night and day.

• I like Tane Mahuta Walk because it is a forest and a walk and when you are walking you can take pictures of the forest.

• I like Dargaville because it was made in the 1870's and it is a farm and people are still living in it.

Activity 2

5 questions to ask Laura.

• How old where you when you learnt how to sail?
• How did you know you wanted to sail?
•  Did you teach your self how to sail?
• Do you get scared when you go out sailing.
• Have you been every where around the world

Bonus Activity

For the bonus activity I had to get someone from my class and ask them what they like doing out  doors.

1. Chloe like dancing outside. 

2. She like swimming  in the sea/pools.

3. She like gardening.

4. Chloe like gymnastics.

5. Chloe likes playing sports.

Today we have been looking at New Zealand population and 100% pure New Zealand. We have three different tasks to do.  Then we had to watch a video about Auckland then we wrote down 5 things in Auckland that we would like to do. We got different links to help us with the facts and the flag creating. We had to use the links to help us find facts and make a flag

Activity 1

• In New Zealand out of the 4.4 million New Zealanders also known as Kiwis, about 69% are European descent,14.6% are indigenous Maori, 9.2% are Asians and 6.9 non Maori Pacific Islanders.

• Over three quarters of the population live in North Island and one third of the total population is living in Auckland.

• The other main cities are wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton are where the majority of the remaining Kiwis dwell.
