Drama- Preforming

Today was the last day of drama. We had to preform today, in my group there was Narnia, Tonga, Charlie and myself and we were the 4th group to preform.

In my performance we had to do a freeze frame and a chorus of movement. In my freeze frame we were playing volleyball. Narnia and Tonga were the people playing, Charlie was the referee and I was the net. After we did the freeze frame we had to do a chorus of movement. We didn't have anything for that so Charlie lined us up in a line and said we like to walk then we walked out.

I really liked Drama this term because sometimes we worked with people we had never worked with before.

The past few weeks in science we have been doing really fun experiments.

My favorite experiment was the scones. When we made the scones we were in groups of 3. In my group I had Tonga, Narnia and myself. In each group we made 3 scone. We made one normal one, one without butter and one with lemonade.

My favorite experiments are the baking ones. I also like the idea of one period of doing experiments and the other doing blog posts.

Drama- Puppet's

Today in drama we made a puppet show, our puppet show was about eating healthy. In my group there was Rarotonga, Narnia, Charlie & me. We had one puppet each, Charlie and Narnia had a dog each, Rarotonga had a apple and I had a banana. We had a song on in the background it was Apples And Banana's. We were the first group finished so we had to go to the back of the auditorium to start a blog post.

Facts:
  • Exercise regularly. Teens should be physically active at least 60 minutes of every day.
  •          Get enough sleep.
  •          Brush and floss your teeth.

Graduate Profile Self- Assessment

Graduate Profile
A few weeks ago we had parent teacher interviews. We had to fill in this form, to tell our parents
what our goals are. My first goal is completing my work in the time i am given, i really need to
start doing that because i get behind and have to do it at home. My second goal is i can reflect
on my learning, i am not good at reflecting anything i am not sue why but i am just not. My Third
goal is i can think critically, I did that because I dont know what critically means. I hope to
achieve all of the N's by the time I finish year 8.

Color Experiment

Colour Experiment.

Today in science we had 2 experiments, the first one was rainbow paper, the second one was skittles and water.

Rainbow Paper

Aim: To separate colors by using the process of chromatography
Materials:.
1. Chromatography Paper
2. Felts
3. Cups
4. Water
5. Ruler

Process:
Step 1: Get Chromatography paper.
Step 2: mark 2 cm from the top downwards and from the bottom 1 cm upwards.
Step 3: Draw 3 dots on the 1 cm line with green, red and black felt.
Step 4: Put the paper in the cup hanging from the 2 cm line.
Step 5: put water up to the 1 cm line.
Step 6: Watch the the end result.

Reflection: It was really fun and it worked out great!

Skittles

AimTo separate colors by using the process of chromatography.

Materials;

1. Skittles
2. Water
3. Container

Process:

Step 1: Get a container.
Step 2: Spread the skittles out in the container.
Step 3: Put water in the container.
Step 4: Watch the end result.

Findings: The colors didn't mix together they made lines in between.

Reflection: I had fun doing this experiment and it didn't end how I thought it would.

Crazy Crystals

AIM: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals.

Definition of solution
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)

Definition of saturated
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)

In groups of three you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.

Borax Crystals

Image result for borax crystals

Ratio; 3 Tablespoons Borax per 1/2 cup water
Materials

1) Cup/glass
2) Pipe cleaner
3)borax
4) sting
5)Popsicle stick
6) Warm Water
7) Spoon
Process

Step 1: Get a cup or a glass.
Step 2: Put 3 tablespoons of borax and 1/2 cups of water.
Step 3: Add ingredients to the cup.
Step 4: Mix it together with your Popsicle stick.
Step 5: Tie your string to your Popsicle stick.
Step 6: Make a star with the pipe cleaner, tie it to the string.
Step 7: Put your star into your borax and water solution.

Sugar Crystals

Grow your own Sugar Crystals

Ratio: 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup water
Materials

1) Cup or glass.
2) Warm water
3) Spoon
4) Popsicle stick
5) String

Process

Step 1: Get a cup or glass.
Step 2: Put 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 a cup of warm water in the cup.
Step 3: Add ingredients into cup.
Step 4: Mix them together with a Popsicle stick.
Step 5: When it dissolved, put 4 tablespoons in your borax and water solution.
Step 6: Tie your string to your Popsicle stick and put it in the borax and water solution.

Salt Crystals

Image result for how to make salt crystals

Ratio: 4 Tablespoons salt to 1/2 cup water
Materials

1) Cup
2) Salt
3)  Warm Water
4) String
5) Popsicle stick

Process

Step 1: Get cup
Step 2: Put 4 tablespoons of salt in the cup.
Step 3: Put 1/2 cups of warm water in with the salt.
Step 4: Mix it with Popsicle stick until the salt dissolved.
Step 5: Tie string on the Popsicle stick.
Step 6: Put Popsicle stick in the borax and water solution.
